Here's Joseph on his 12th birthday with the notorious dirt cake that my kids so delight in.

Another thing he delighted in is his Daddy.

Below is a journal exert for school that he wrote when he was 13 1/2 years old.

My Daddy

My Daddy is strong and very giving. He provides for a family of 22 people. He raises hogs and cows and sells them in the winter. He grows watermelons in the summer. He is always working very hard and cutting up with us. He has a hard job putting up with us, but he does it anyway. He does not have to. He could be retired if he wanted to, but he did what God told him to.
