Throwback Thursday / Sentimental Nostalgia!

I know this doesn’t look like much, but it’s special to me. 45 years ago, I got this tiny trinket at Allied Department store with my ticket books I had saved. (Many of you are too young to know or even remember what I’m talking about!😉)

I admit I’m a sucker for cute, dust-gathering what-nots. This one is super special, because it is the first one that I bought after Billy & I got married. Its little sign spoke the words of my heart!

“Happiness is being together.”

This too is just sentimental nostalgia! Billy & I had our first date October 22, 1974, 46 years ago. He went to the fair with the FFA club the next week & bought me this ring with my name on it.

We married a year later, October 22, 1975.

The following spring, Billy picked the tiny miniature wild rose from the ditch bank beside our house, and brought it in to me. I’ve always treasured these memories.

Silly, sentimental nostalgia brings a smile to my face - guess I’m just wired that way.
