Throwback Thursday / Ruth, Rebekah, and Lydia's Homecoming March 2001

ree

Such a SPECIAL DAY! In March 2017, Ruth (who's now 26) shared on Facebook what this day meant to her. I'll let her tell you in her own words:

I just want to take the time to thank mama and daddy for everything they have done for me and for what they continue to do.

This month, 16 years ago, I was a little girl who was scared about my future. Scared because I was told that if this family didn't work out, I would be separated from my two sisters and that terrified me. So I did my best to be the little girl who they would want to keep and not send away.

It wasn't long before I realized that no matter how I acted or what I said, they loved me for me. At first I couldn't understand why. Why love me and continue to love me when others tried but stopped once I started to act out.

But then I noticed that mama and daddy have something that the others didn't have. Their faith in God.

Not only did they love and believe in Him but they allowed Him to work through them. And because of that they were able to love us unconditionally.

I am so grateful that I was able to stay and grow up with with Lydia and Rebekah. I don't know what I would've done without them because they were the only thing that was constant in my life at that time.

So thank you mama and daddy. Thank you for doing God's will and adopting us. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to us. I know that it wasn't always easy. You two are the best parents anyone could ever have and I love y'all so much.

Hopefully one day, when I have a family of my own, I can love and care for them the way you love and care for our huge family😚

I cried the first time I read it 3 years ago, and I still tear up now! So thankful, that we did the CRAZY GOD THING and adopted these 3 angels!
