May 1983 -
Cowboy Billy and Harold, the Mailbox
I made this novel Longhorn mailbox as a gift for Billy in the spring of 1983! I built it all except the mailbox itself which doubles as Harold's head. The horns I shaped and molded with screen wire and covered with some type of bonding material that I don't remember the name of now. His body and neck I cut from plywood and 2x4's were used for his legs. Finishing the project off with an artistic paint job, I surprised my hubby with his unique mailbox. He was surprised and tickled!
We nicknamed him Harold just for fun!

Here's 3 year old Josey, who was never far from her daddy's side, enjoying a little ride!
Giddy-up Cowgirl!
