Teaching Tuesday / Your Real Value

The kids had fun being measured in a somewhat different way last week. In our society we measure ourselves , each other, and everything in-between . When we measure things or people, we tend to place a value on the item or person, and those values also tend to fluctuate depending on how important that particular item or person is to us.
Another way that we measure in our society to determine value is by performance. Well, I didn't mess up today, so I'm good. Or I did it perfectly so that makes me good. When in reality, neither of those statements are truth.

Our value isn't determined by how many times a day we mess up or don't mess up. It's not determined by me doing it perfectly or not making any mistakes while I'm doing it.
I Peter 1:18-19 tells us exactly what we are worth, exactly what our value is every second of every day. The best news is that OUR VALUE NEVER CHANGES - EVER!
"For you know that you were not redeemed from your useless [spiritually unproductive] way of life inherited [by tradition] from your forefathers with perishable things like silver and gold . . .
{Bonnie's interpretation : You weren't bought back or purchased by anything as cheap and as inexpensive as material on this earth!}
but [you were actually purchased] with precious blood, like that of a [sacrificial] lamb unblemished and spotless, the priceless blood of Christ." (AMP)

TRANSLATED:
YOUR VALUE = JESUS CHRIST's BLOOD
Did you get that? Our value is established by the most precious thing in the entire world and Heaven combined. NOTHING can make you more valuable if your heart loves Jesus. No goals, achievements, or accomplishments - regardless of how impressive they may be - is going to increase your value!
You are at the top of the heap! It doesn't get any better, higher, more fabulous than that! "If Jesus Christ is your Savior, you done hit the jackpot, baby!"
So, why are we not acting like it? And why aren't we teaching it to our children?
The answer is simple. . . because we don't truly believe it! We believe what we listen to the most, and we have listened to the lies of the enemy so long that we think everything has to be earned, or worked for, and not a free gift. The only way to refute the lies is to hear the truth enough that we believe it instead.
Get in God's Word! Speak out His Truth over you and your children so that you will believe every precious promise that God's ever spoken about you. And oh dear parents, we have got to teach this to our precious children! The devil is going after them with everything he has got, because his days are short. God's word of Truth will set us and our children free, in Jesus name by His Blood.
