Dear Sweet Mamas,

You do it all! You care for them all! You multitask to the max, and never even blink! I don't mean to lay a guilt trip on you, but there's one you usually leave out! YOU!!! And ladies, that's NOT OKAY!
You are priceless to Daddy God. He says in Proverbs 31:10 (AMP),
"An excellent woman . . . Her value is more precious than jewels and her worth is far above rubies or pearls."
He sees all your hard work. He sees your sacrifice. He sees your labor of love for all of those you come in contact with and listen to me dear Sister - He is well pleased!!!
But He wants you to remember something! In I Corinithians 3:16, Abba tells us,
"Surely you know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you!"
If He gave you a physical building and said, "Here, please take care of my home til I come back." Oh my, how meticulously we would take care of that place. From the ceiling to the floors, it would be immaculate and stewarded to the upmost of our ability ! Well, that's exactly what He did! He gave you your body as His Home-Away-from-Home so to speak, and He expects you and I to care for it! That includes eating properly, exercising, spending time in Father's presence, but it also includes . . . drum roll please . . . RESTING! It is okay for you to take time for yourself ( and yes, you are probably going to have to schedule it!).
What would happen to your car if you never took it to the shop for servicing? Right! It would slowly began to run less and less efficient. You probably wouldn't even notice it at first, but over time it's going to wear out, break down, and leave you stranded on the side of the road! Our cars must be serviced regularly to run properly! How much more so do our bodies that house God's Spirit need to have regular servicing (regular rest times)?!?!
I know it's been hard with the Covid 19 quarantine, but ask Holy Spirit to help you be creative. If going shopping is your thing (and since you can't do that right now), take a long bubble bath instead, or go for a walk. One lady told me that she and her hubby had back porch date night. They ordered their meal on line, ran to the restaurant and picked up their curbside order, went home and had a beautiful evening relaxing just the two of them on their porch. You might want to consider doing that for just yourself. Be bold, and ask hubby or older children to help you make time for you! But even if no one volunteers to enable you, you have got to carve out some rest time for yourself! Our self-care is our choice to maintain! Like all other decisions in life, we have to choose. Oh yeah, and not choosing, is a choice!
Years ago one of the children's counselor was concerned about my workload and asked me what I would do with 3 hours of free time. I kid you not, the idea was so foreign to my brain that I just sat there and couldn't even think of anything to say. At the time I was puzzled, but now, looking back I see what he was getting at. I was this "seemingly" super woman caregiver - but superwoman isn't real! I'm human, just like you, and our bodies need rest! At the time he said that if I didn't rest, I was going to wind up in the hospital. He wasn't wrong.
So, Ladies, you see it's vitally important that you take time (make time) to take care of you! You are priceless! Irreplaceable! A rare jewel and treasure! Treat yourself lovingly and kind by practicing self-care on a regular basis! It will not only bless you but your entire family will benefit from it also. Because we all know "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!" And tired, exhausted mamas are more cranky than happy.
So, light you a scented candle, run you a nice, hot, bubble bath, turn on some soft relaxing music, and just relax! You are so worth it, and you truly deserve it! Enjoy!
