Teaching Tuesday / No Unmet Need

ree

Some people would call my children underprivileged. They do not have cell phones, four wheelers, Facebook, or Xbox. Their TV and tablet use is limited and monitored with parental controls. All in all a very, sheltered life. But we have learned that those things aren't needs, and without them my children can get real creative! They spent hours preparing and collecting everything they needed for their picnic to take to their hideout in the woods! Hours of fun fueled by very free and vivid imaginations!

Deciding what is a need and what is a want is very important when rearing children. Our human nature is geared toward wanting, and society feeds those wants with a continual overload of advertising. Left unchecked our wants will consume us.

The lord showed me the neatness revelation this past week. In John 14:30, Jesus says,

" . . . the ruler of this dark world is coming. But he has no power over me, for he has nothing to use against me." (TPT)

OH WOW! The devil has no power over Jesus, over us, if he has nothing to use against us! If satan can't find any UNMET NEED in me, he can't use any of his lies to kill, steal, or destroy in my life.

If I don't need others affirmation because I know who I am in Christ, the devil can't torture me with lies of what others think or feel about me. If I'm trusting my Father to supply financially even when I can't see it, satan can't torment me with fear of not enough. If I believe God's promises about healing, just like I believe His promises about salvation, then the devil can't steal my health or destroy my joy with his worrisome lies. My Daddy says He will supply ALL my needs! (Philippians 4:19) He doesn't say some, part of, or just enough to keep me happy. He says ALL! The definition of ALL is ALL!

In verse 31, Jesus says He wants us to know that He thoroughly loves His Father, and so He obeys His every command. Loving Father perfectly meant obeying always, and perfect love cast out all fear. (I John 4:18) There was never an opportunity for the devil to whisper in Jesus' ear that someone's going to find out about that secret sin that You committed. Because of His Perfect Love for Father, Jesus had NO UNMET NEEDS that the devil could use to lure Him away by His own lusts and desires (James 1:14). Continually led by the Spirit, He didn't carry out the desires of the flesh (Gal.5:16 NASB). He only did what He saw His Father do and only said what His Father said (John 5:19).

I don't know about you, but I want to have NO UNMET NEEDS so that I can say like Jesus said that satan has no power over me, for he has nothing to use against me. But even more important than that . . . I want to raise my children to have NO UNMET NEEDS!

Ever since God gave me this revelation last week , I've been asking for wisdom on how to do just that. If our children have NO UNMET NEEDS like Jesus, they won't be moved by peer pressure, other's opinions, or worldly lust.

Please, join me in crying out for wisdom in parenting our Children. Let's PRAY:

Oh Sweet JESUS ,

You tell us in Your Word in James 1:5 that if we need wisdom we are to ask You, and You will give it liberally. Well, we need Your wisdom. Enough is enough! We are sick and tired of the devil tormenting our children. So, we declare NO MORE in Jesus' name! Teach us how to fight, to guard, to protect, and train this HOLY generation in these end times, in Your Precious name we pray! AMEN and AMEN! Let it be so, LORD!
