Teaching Tuesday / Life Racing Out Of Control & Against Your Will

ree

The picture is kinda cute, but I don't think the puppy thinks so! LOL!

Looking through photo albums of yesteryear when I came across this picture I thought, that's the way we all feel right now! With Covid 19 still rearing its ugly head, I think its safe to say that the majority of our nation, if not the entire world, feels like we are being propelled through our lives at an uncomfortable speed. And to make matters worse, it feels like someone else is in control at the wheel!

In the case of this pup, these are the culprits from February 2002: David (10), Joel (2), Gabriel (5), Joseph (8), and Adam (5). What one of them didn't dream up, the others did! LOL!

But for us, this demonic Covid 19 "seems" to be driving our lives. What can we do as parents to protect our children? With school officials struggling against unbelievable odds, government leaders trying to navigate the uncharted waters of a pandemic, and the world reeling through the unknowns of the unsettled future . . . Parents, we can PRAY!!!

II Corinthians 4: 16-18 (MSG) tells us,

"So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times . . ."

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some good times. I hear some of you question, but . . .but . . . but . . . what about NOW?!?!?

Well, NOW, we can choose FAITH over FEAR!

NOW, we can choose TRUST over WORRY!

NOW, we can choose PRAISE over COMPLAINING!

ree

Was that last statement an "ouchy" for you as well as me?

Philippians 2: 14, which says that we are to "do all things without complaining and disputing" has kind of got pushed to the back burner in my mind so to speak. What the school boards decide really won't affect my 3 youngest at home, because we home school; but it does affect my older children and my grandkids, who are teachers as well as students.

So, instead of complaining, I need to be PRAYING that those in positions of authority make Godly decisions led by the wisdom of God!

Looks like our little pup has come to the same decision. He's shut his howling mouth (I'm shutting mine, too!) , holding on, and just TRUSTING the ONE who's really steering my life.

"The steps of a good man (or woman) are ordered by the LORD . . ." (Psalms 37:23 , NKJV)

I'm PRAYING PEACE AND WISDOM for each of you!
