It's close to spring . . .
You can feel it and see it all around. As things come to life don't ever let us forget that any time is a good time to die! Any time is a good time to crucify our fleshly desires, and let God's will bloom more fully in our lives.
Hope you enjoy my poem below!
Appropriately titled . . .
"Dying Again!"
Dying Again!
by: Bonnie Walker
I repent of self-pity,
And the pride that it does cloak.
Forgive me my railings against the roads that look chosen by chance;
Pitying thoughts on this road of life's circumstance.
Too hard, too long, and too full of pain,
When in truth praise should be always on my lips and not the complain.
My life, but a vapor - here today and gone tomorrow,
Can I not endure a "moment" for Your Glory? for my strengthening not for my sorrow?
How dare I, in my haughtiness and pride,
Think that I could my life's journey better navigate or decide!
Such childish foolish thoughts! I should grow up indeed!
How my spirit does earnestly plead!
My flesh cries out "But it's hard! it hurts!"
Muscles stretching to carry more of His love,
Tendons pulling as they reach out further and further still
Loving the least of these is His sweet perfect will.
Today, oh to be, His little laid down lover . . . just for the one,
Just loving like His dear selfless Son!
But what if I choose, to sulk and pout,
Nursing a mountain of offense, and in my disdain instead lash out?
Retaliate over and over again,
For each of their woundings, each of their sins?
Will I not be the most miserable of women then?
Holding a higher standard for others, while justifying my sin!
Are not my situations and circumstances an opportunity to die yet again?
Another chance to bring Him Glory, another chance to manifest HIs win?
So, I choose You, Jesus,
Your will, Your way!
I choose surrender and sacrifice ,
To bring You glory this day!
