Prayin' Mama!

One day this week, one of my children texted me and asked had I prayed for them that day.

I replied affirmatively, and questioned why? To which they replied, "Well, (this and this and) this just happened and my first thought was, "Is Mama behind this?" Then I responded, "Maybe God?!?!?" , and they agreed!

Another call this week came late last night. My child who called was noticeably upset on the phone. While driving, they had turned a complete circle in the middle of the road, and landed safely on the side of the road. Child and car totally unharmed - not even a scratch on either. I said, "That's God!", and they agreed! Why am I telling you this? Because we never know how far reaching our prayers travel.

Years ago, the Lord used our family to prove just that point. There was a Christian social worker in Texas who was concerned for one of her coworkers who didn't know the Lord, so she prayed this prayer.

"Lord, please put someone in my coworker's life that she can see the power of God working through their lives so that she will know You. And Lord, make it be someone that she has to work with so she can't run from them."

Along then was when we started looking in Texas to adopt more children. Guess who God ordained would be our caseworker?!? The lost coworker! Through a series of supernatural miracles in dealing with our multiple adoptions in those two years, that dear caseworker saw God and accepted Jesus! We didn't know til much later about the coworker's prayer, but God knew. It was a wonderful lesson about God answering our prayers, and He'll go to any length of time or distance to accomplish that.

Truth be told, this side of Heaven, we do not fully know the mountains that our prayers are moving . We don't know here, how our prayers are opening up the hearts of our little ones to receive God's love into their hearts. But rest assured dear parent, your prayers are not powerless.

You may never see on earth how your prayers are shielding your little ones from the fiery darts of the wicked one, but they truly are. James 5:16b (TPT) tells us , "For tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer."

And earth may never reveal, just how many times God used your prayers to direct and protect your child's choices and directions, but Heaven hears and responds!

How many times have your prayers protected your children? Only Heaven knows! . . .
