Today, I want to share with you the faithfulness of Father towards a child's heart's desire.
This is Noah! When he was 8, before God ever told me - Noah wanted me for a Mama! I will never forget when he walked up to me in Children's Church, wrapped his arms around my waist, looked up to me with those big brown eyes and said,
"I wish you were my Mama!"
Well, Daddy G heard Noah's heart's cry, and in 2011 his adoption was finalized! But it wasn't instant; it was a long arduous journey for us both, covered by a long trail of tears! Below, I want to share one of the most painful moments of that journey. Not to make you cry, but to proclaim the FAITHFULNESS of a Father who loves us and gives us our heart's desire.
Here's an exert from my second book, The Glory Continues. Noah had been placed in a Children's home and we had gone to visit. This is the part of the story where we have to leave him. ---
"Then came the part that I didn't think I would live through . . . leaving!
When the CASA worker said we had to go, Noah latched on to me and started begging me not to leave him, to take him with me. Finally, he looked up at me and said,
"You've adopted all those other kids. Adopt me, please?"
I wasn't supposed to let the children know yet what was going on. I was so distraught that I didn't know what to say. All I could do was call for the CASA worker and look helplessly at her. She tactfully changed the subject, which temporarily eased the situation.
Holy Spirit had reminded me that Noah always liked my perfume. When I had asked Him what to give Noah to bring him the most comfort, He told me to saturate a hanky with my perfume, seal it in a bag, and leave it with Noah. So, before we left, I took Noah aside to give him his last gift. I sat down in the swing, sat him on my lap, and told him to close his eyes and smell. I opened a small plastic bag containing my perfumed hanky and held it up to his nose. I asked him what it smelled like.
"Candy," he replied.
I chuckled, "Okay, but who smells like that?" I prompted.
His eyes got as big as saucers!
"You do!" he said, grinning.
I hugged him, saying, "That's right! So when you are feeling sad or lonely, I want you to open up the bag and inhale a deep breath, and you will feel this . . . "
And I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him again, real tight.
Noah continued saying over and over that he didn't want to stay there. He also kept begging me to take him with me. Leaving him there was the hardest parting that I have ever experienced. It was harder than leaving one of our other sibling groups in Texas the first time we visited them, and at the time I thought that would kill me! But God's grace is always sufficient and always shows up when we are weakest."

Daddy G showed up for Noah, giving him the one thing in life that he wanted more than anything else - Noah needed and wanted a Mama!
I don't know what you need or want, but I can PROMISE you this: Our God is no respecter of persons. He loves His children and He wants to give you your hearts desire just like He did Noah. . . HE IS FAITHFUL!
