I love fall! It's my favorite time of year. Fall is a nice reminder that things don't always stay the same. The cool crispness in the air after the smothering heat of summer is a sweet caress to our lungs and to our emotions.
I wrote this poem called "New Season" last year and felt like it was the appropriate time to share it, because I feel like we have just entered a "new season" spiritually. Hope you enjoy!
"New Season"
When it's cloudy here -
It's hard to imagine
The sun could be shining anywhere . . .
And so it is in our lives.
The lie we believe
Is that things will never change . . .
That it will always be stormy and cloudy.
But God has spoken
And He says,
"Look ahead My Child . . .
You have absolutely nothing to dread."
So, chin up, face to the Son
Get ready - get ready!
It's time to run . . .
Run into your future, fearless and strong!
In My Presence each day is where you belong!
Nothing to dread - because all fear is dead!
All lies are revealed
Truth isn't concealed! Janiah's Fall Sugar Cookies

So, rise up my Child -
It's over! Finally, it's over!
New season, I embrace
Thank You, Jesus, for Your unfailing GRACE!
I would never have made it -
Never survived!
The pain, the trauma, all of the lies . . .
Tears I've cried, You've caught in Your bottles,
Sleepless nights, in agony, beyond words to describe,
But My God is faithful, and His Word now is,
"Don't look back - Arise! I've got You. Look forward. You're right on track!
New Season! New Season! I shout from my heart!
Thank You, Jesus, for carrying me from the start!
I've learned so much,
Grown so strong,
Bring Glory to Your name is my favorite song!
