Faithful Friday / 700 Club (Faithful With My Slow Yes!)

ree

There are so many lessons that I could share with you about being on the 700 Club, but today I want to tell you about the faithfulness of our Father . . . even when I'm dragging me feet with my slow yes!

Most of the story is recorded in my first book since it happened 2000-2002. I wish that I had pics to share, but taking shots with the 700 Club crew and Terry Meeuwsen was the last thing on my mind. (As you can see, Terry forwarded my book.)

You can watch the entire video interview on my website im-perfectparenting.com or on bonniewalkerministries.org . It's 8 minutes long, so it wouldn't take you long to enjoy it. Sorry, I'm just not tech savvy enough to transfer the original video to this blog.

Getting back to my slow yes!

July 2000, You began to speak to me about a "Divine Appointment" that You had lined up. A friend had blessed me with an all-expense paid trip to a women's retreat in Mississippi. Being picked up at the airport, I was introduced to a lady named Brooke Boland who just happened to be one of the writers and producers of the 700 Club! Bingo! My Divine Appointment.

Of coarse since Daddy G had ordained all this, Brooke wanted us to be on the show. I declined her offer! More than once! I wasn't playing hard to get; I just don't like being on TV. That night I received a scolding from Daddy G, who lovingly reminded me that HE HAD PLANNED AND ORDAINED THIS! So next, morning I went to Brooke, told her what the Lord had said and we agreed to prayerfully consider how to do this without exploiting my kids.

Time rocked on. I had prayer partners praying about us being on the 700 Club! Truth be told, it would have been fine with me if we were never on TV.

One day in prayer in asking for financial provision to add on to the house, Daddy G informed me that I hadn't used all the resources that He had already provided. Well, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure what He was referring to - the 700 Club! So, I repented again.

I called Brooke and she started the ball rolling to line everything up for a crew from 700 Club to come. But even in that I told them NO again, because the day they picked was a day that a large group of home schoolers were coming out to the house for fellowship, food, and fun. Brooke called me herself and insisted that it had to be that day because they had already made the plans on their end. So, I grudgingly said yes again.

I guess by now you kinda get the picture. I kept saying yes with my mouth, but my heart was screaming no!

I'm hear to tell you that our Daddy G is so amazing that He can take even our slow, long, drawn-out yes and make something beautiful out of it!

So, the 700 Club crew came in August. We had an entire day with camera's in our faces. The kids loved it. I was just hoping to survive it!

Because of 9/11 that year, our interview didn't air til April 2002. You have never seen 17 children so excited for a show to come on. They thought they were movie stars because they were on TV.

"They are stars alright, Lord, Your Stars!"

Even with my extremely slow yes, God used that interview to bless so many families across this nation and even around the world. We received so many emails and even phone calls, but the one that I remember most had this sentence in it from another foster, hope-to-be adoptive mom,

"Thank you so much for sharing your story. Your testimony has made me realize that we are not fighting for our children's physical custody, but that we are fighting for the custody of their souls!"

Wow! It still brings Holy Spirit quickening all over my body . Indeed, we are dear foster/adoptive mom!

So you see, even my slow yes, He can faithfully use to further His kingdom in the earth! And He can use yours, too! Just say YES!
